HOW WE WORK

IN A FEW STEPS

Step 1:    We receive your documents and texts for translation plus any precise instructions or wishes. The documents can be sent using the quotation module on our website, by e-mail or via weTransfer.
Step 2:    We closely examine the translation project and ask any additional questions so that all the specific details are clear. We then analyse the text.
Step 3:    We propose a competitive quotation based on the above steps. This quotation takes all your wishes and any repetitions in the text into account.
The quotation for the assignment is based on the number of words. The word rate varies per language combination and depends on the number of words in the document or the volume of translations on an annual basis.
Depending on the language combination, the rate is calculated based on the source language or the target language. The source language is the language used in the text to be translated. The target language is the language the text is translated into. We take this into account in our quotations.
We always state the number of source language words or the estimated number of target language words in the quotation. The number of words is calculated using an electronic count, unless otherwise indicated by AgroLingua. Our minimum rate applies to translations of short texts (up to approx. 300 source language words). This is € 59 per language combination (excl. VAT). Our rate per hour applies to copy editing and revision, translations of glossaries without context, online translations (CMS), software translations and copywriting. The hour rate is from € 59 per hour (excl. VAT).

TRANSLATION IS OUR PASSION!

At AgroLingua, we see our profession as more than just translating words from one language into another. The sales and project managers at our translation agency and our translators take time to study the subject matter and develop a keen understanding of our clients.
Translation is a process that entails conveying the message of the text, while retaining the original style and content. Texts often have their own tone of voice and nuances which must also resonate with the intended target audience. We are happy to discuss with our clients first whether a text can be translated more freely or whether a closer reproduction of the original text is required. No matter whether the text is creative, commercial, educational or purely informative.
To ensure the best results, we maintain close contact with our clients to discuss the approach. This makes sure that our translations match the needs and expectations of the client. At AgroLingua we apply the mother tongue principle. This principle states that a linguist translates into his or her native language. Our translators are native speakers, who often have an agricultural background, relevant qualifications and sector experience. They can expertly translate your content with the right linguistic flair.

AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING

TRANSLATIONS OF MANUALS FOR FARMING EQUIPMENT AND MACHINERY

Agricultural engineering is a growing sector that covers a broad scope of industries. It combines and integrates technology with farming and as such includes many high-tech companies active in the agri-food business.
Our translators naturally offer excellent language skills. In addition, they also have specific knowledge of the various sectors (horticulture, agriculture, livestock, food). They also have the necessary technical expertise to translate operating principles and technical terms. For some clients we translate documents into more than 20 languages!
Manufacturers and distribution chains in the agricultural engineering sector supply machinery, tools, equipment and services. The sector also manufactures agricultural and horticultural products or acts as a service provider. As well as agriculture in the broadest sense, the sector also serves landscapers and companies that mange public green spaces.

AGRICULTURE

GERMAN, ENGLISH, FRENCH, SPANISH AND MORE!

Agriculture is a catch-all term that can be defined in numerous ways. Agricultural today has a highly industrialised profile. However, the purpose of agriculture is the basically the same as it has always been. That is, cultivating land to produce food and other useful crops.
Most people associate agriculture with arable farming. Important crops in the arable sector include potatoes, cereals, flax, cotton, tobacco, sugar beet, rapeseed and cereal crops such as maize, rice, wheat, millet and oats. But there are also smaller crop categories such as caraway, poppy seeds, buckwheat, peas, broad beans, grasses and chicory. A number of our clients manufacture agricultural machinery and equipment. We provide translations for these products including tractors, ploughs, agricultural sprayers, harvesters, seeders, tillers, sprayers, etc.

HORTICULTURE

TRANSLATIONS OF WEBSITES, CULTIVATION TIPS, TRADE JOURNALS

Horticulture is the cultivation of fruit, vegetables, mushrooms, flowers, plants, trees, bulbs and seeds. Horticulture involves outdoor cultivation systems (vegetables and flowers), tree nurseries, fruit growing and bulbs and crops cultivated in greenhouses or polytunnels. Greenhouse horticulture is characterised by high-tech applications such as climate control and lighting used to manage crop production. Examples of greenhouse crops are vegetables, cut flowers or pot plants.
Our scope of expertise extends to the horticultural sector. Our clients in this sector include seed breeding companies in the vegetable and grass segments and international trading platforms such as auctions, as well as the horticultural supply chain for products such as reusable trays and logistics service providers. We are also a translation partner for dedicated recruitment and selection companies such as Green People Recruitment.

LIVESTOCK AND ANIMAL HUSBANDRY

TRANSLATIONS INCUDING OPERATING MANUALS FOR CLIMATE CONTROL COMPUTERS

Broadly speaking, livestock farming is rearing animals for use or for pleasure. Cattle and poultry are kept to provide dairy produce, eggs and meat. Other sectors of animal husbandry include breeding horses, pig farming, and fish farming.
Within this sector we are a translation partner for many international market leaders. We translate operating manuals for climate computers and feed systems used in livestock housing. We also work for companies that supply genetics for poultry, pigs and beef and dairy cattle and manufacturers of lighting systems and milking robots. We also translate for companies that develop and market animal feed as well as suppliers of equestrian clothing and equipment.

FOOD

TRANSLATIONS FOR THE FOOD INDUSTRY AND INSPECTION AND CERTIFICATION BODIES

The scope of the food industry covers companies that process raw materials and agricultural produce into foodstuffs on a commercial scale. Example of our translations in this sector include documentation for international testing and certification bodies into German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and English. We also translate into less common languages such as Afrikaans and Hindi for food producers and for suppliers in, for example, the packaging industry.
