Can you tell us some more about your company and why you started working with us 25 years ago? What were the most important considerations for you at the time?
We used the services of AgroLingua right from the start for one of our customers – Veenhuis Machines. Their documents had to be translated into German. The combination of in-depth knowledge of the agricultural sector and a personal connection motivated our collaboration. And to this day, we entrust our translations to AgroLingua.
How has the working partnership developed over the years in your experience? Have you noticed any major changes or improvements? ReMarkAble has grown significantly in recent years, including internationally. And the demand for translations has increased too: brochures, labels, websites, subtitles for videos. And often in multiple languages such as English, French, German, Spanish, Russian... and so on. It's great to know that the translations are in good hands. Are there any specific moments or projects that stand out? Yes, subtitles for a number of videos. They were internal videos about compliance, so not a particularly exciting topic. But thanks to good video content and good translations, they became a worldwide success. What are the most important benefits of our partnership for your business? Which aspects of our collaboration do you value most? The knowledge and expertise of the agricultural sector is certainly a benefit. Technical terms must be translated correctly. A good example comes from the potato processing industry. Potatoes can sometimes grow downwards instead of upwards. In Dutch it’s called an ‘onderzeeër’ – which you would normally translate as a ‘submarine’. But English-speaking growers would scratch their heads, as they call this a ‘sinker’. This is a good example of the importance of a translation partner with knowledge of the sector.
