AgroLingua regularly attends the world’s leading trade fairs for agriculture and agricultural machinery. At the latest edition of Agritechnica in Hannover, which boasted 2,849 exhibitors from 52 countries, we met with several of our clients to discuss the latest innovations and developments in the fast-evolving agricultural sector. One of these clients is Flikweert Vision, still a relatively young company and already an industry leader in optical grading of potatoes and onions. Headquartered in Nieuwerkerk and serving clients in more than 20 countries, Flikweert Vision is a dynamic company with exciting plans for the future.

Flikweert Vision is a family business. Its founders have a background in agriculture and an immense passion for technology and innovation. The time-consuming process of manually grading crops inspired them to start developing smart, reliable solutions for growers and processors. The aim was to create an optical sorting machine that worked faster and delivered more accurate results. Camera technology and AI were integrated into a prototype that was trialled in practical conditions. The success of this initial machine laid the foundations for the company’s success today. The initial focus on grading potatoes evolved into a specialism that also extends to optical sorting machines for the onion sector. Flikweert Vision currently delivers smart sorting technology that combines precision, simplicity and reliability all over the world. Their solutions enable growers and processors to automate their sorting processes and boost their sustainability and profitability.
The hardware and software used in the machines are designed, built and trialled fully in-house. Flikweert Vision machines stand out thanks to their compact construction and sturdy design.
